Cut refers to how well a diamond is cut and polished - not its shape.
A good cut makes the diamond sparkle and reflect light properly. If cut poorly, even a big diamond will look dull.
Clarity measures how many internal flaws (inclusions) or external marks (blemishes) a diamond has.
Fewer imperfections = higher clarity and value.
Diamonds are graded based on how colourless they are. The scale goes from D (completely colourless) to Z (noticeable yellow or brown tint). Less colour generally means higher value.
This is the diamond's weight, not its size (though they're related). 1 carat = 200 milligrams.
Larger diamonds are rarer, so price increases significantly with carat weight.
